The Airfix Lotus F1 is based on the Lotus 24. This was one of the second batch of original Airfix cars and was available as a set car from the release of the second and third sets until the last Airfix set. The car was in the short lived MR15 set and the MR7 set until it became as MRRC product. This car first came with the two pin steering guide, body coloured wheels and no windscreen before being upgraded with chrome wheels and windscreen. It was then released as the Mk2 with the guide flag steering unit. Both these cars have the full body and 3/4 driver figure. This was was later released as a Hi-Speed model with the open body and can motor. Replacement body kits were available in all three versions.
