Received this SRC Chrono kit, the chassis is fully built and ready to run but the body is a complete kit that needs building. I have built up the body which is quite and easy build and I decided to heat melt the pins that hold the parts in place.

The car body lit is now fully built apart from the lights. The decals have also been applied and the body clearcoated. I have fitted the chassis as supplied, with the long can motor, for testing at my club. I have also fitted a spare inline motor pod, it uses the same pod as the SRC Mustang, with a Scaleauto Tech 2 25k C can motor. I will switch pods and test with the C can motor as this is needed for our club saloon class. The chassis has already been fitted with a NSR deep wood guide.

The car ran well as supplied but was a little slow for our club class and wasn't eligible anyway because of the long can motor. With the C can motor and NSR tyres and wheels the car run very well.

The car has now had most of the original SRC running gear refitted apart from the rear tyres which are NSR.

I decided to replace the SRC crown gear as it has a alloy hub with an equivalent 24t Slot.It item. I have also had to change the rear axle as I couldn't get the SRC crown gear off the axle. The car seem very stable and quite quick.

I race the car at this weeks club in our saloon car class and it proved to be quite successful being nearly a second a lap quicker than my normal car. The changes are deep wood guide, Scaleauto Tech 2 25k motor with 9t Slot.It pinion screwed and glued in to the long can pod, Slot.It 24t crown gear and NSR tyres. Every thing else is as originally supplied by SRC.

Following a rule change for my clubs saloon car class for next year I have now replaced the C-can motor with a 25k Scaleauto Tech-2 long can motor which is what the cars motor pod is designed for.

I have finally decided it was time to complete this car so I've added the missing rear lights and all the indicators and paint the interior. With the rear lights I have painted the rear of the glazing in silver and the light lens with Tamiya transparent red. For the indicators I've just used Tamiya transparent orange with the body painted in chrome where the front indicators go. The rear fit in to a chrome plated part so didn't need any other work. I've also painted the driver and details on the interior tray and finally permanently fixed to the body, before it was just taped in place. I have also fitted the lower front spoiler, although the top part that was already fitted to the body last year has disappeared.
