Car updates
Did some work on my E-Type Jaguars in preparation for doing some filmed runs on the Airfix Monte Carlo Rally layout, the cars are :-
Jaguar E-Type 1/43rd scale slot car by Cartronic..
Replaced the metal strip pick-up flag with a standard braided guide flag.
Jaguar E Type 1/40th scale green #2 slot car by Jouef.
This car which is fitted with the original solid metal pickups just needed the spring tension adjusted to keep the shoes in contact with the track.
Jaguar E-Type 1/43rd scale blue hardtop #20 slot car by Jouef.
This car required motor change and at the moment is not running with the correct motor as the one I had to fit has a smaller crown gear that what is normal for the E-Type. It also required a pair of front tyres.
Jaguar E-Type 1/43rd scale white hardtop #7 slot car by Jouef.
This car required a set of braided pickup shoes.
Jaguar E-Type 1/40th Scale green hardtop #78 slot car by Jouef.
This car just needed the braids adjusting to run smoothly.
Jaguar E-Type 1/40th scale green #3 slot car by Champion with box..
This car needed a change of rear tyres.
Jaguar E-Type 1/32nd scale green #87 slot car by Revell.
This car need its guide flag lowering as it would not stay in the slot on any of the curves where the slope levelled off a bit. I ended up having to fit a spacer between the guide and chassis.
Jaguar E-Type 1/32nd scale red #12 slot car by Airfix.
This car needed the most work as it was missing a rear wheel and the rear axle was loose. Not being able to find a E-Type rear wheel in the end I fitted a complete early version Ferrari F1 rear axle unit. However once the car was put back to gether the rear axle was still loose, it turned out that one of the plastic lugs on the body pan that holds the axle bearing blocks in place was broken so I had to glue the axle bearing to the chassis pan with super glue.
Jaguar E-Type 1/32nd scale white #47 slot car by Scalextric..
I just could not get the braids adjusted right and the car would keep stopping on the curves whilst climbing. Scalextric cars with the stiff narrow braids can be a bit of a pain to get set up for Airfix track.
Jaguar E-Type 1/32nd scale green #48 slot car by Scalextric.
Unlike the white car this one ran just fine.
Jaguar E-Type 1/32nd scale red #12 slot car by Airfix..
This car needed a new motor fitting. I also had to take it easy on the track as the body is not glued to the interior pan and at some point I will probably change this body for one of my kit bodies.
Jaguar E-Type 1/32nd scale green #12 slot car by Airfix.
This car worked fine but I again had to take it steady on track as again the body is not glued to the interior pan.
Jaguar E-Type 1/40th scale green #3 slot car by Jouef.
This is the only car I could not get running as I don't want to 'modernise' this car. This is one of the very early Jouef cars with the oscillating motor but the motor is wired in with the motor having short brush arms and wire soldered between them and the pick up rails. This car would have been fitted with the solid pickup shoes but they have been replaced with the 'newer' second type pickup shoe which had gauze pads clipped to them. The car has the shoes fitted but the gauze pads are missing. Until I can get a pair of either type, or a gauze pad as I do have one, it will remain a non-runner.

Car updates
Did some more to the Super Shells Ferrari 156 Sharknose.
I've cut and fitted the front axle tube, sill needs gluing in place, and given the chassis a test run and all seems fine.
Testing the brass tube.

Car updates
I've made a couple of small amendments to the 3D chassis for the Super Shells Ferrari 156 Sharknose.
The first change involved added a pair of stops to the front of the chassis and designing a new guide flag which has also been 3D printed. The second amendment is to the front axle brackets and I have enlarged the holes so they will take some brass tube which will stop the axle moving.
