Received a vintage Cox sidewinder chassis today and some axles complete with knock-off nuts.





Have seen people talking about these kits on Slot Forum I thought why not have a look as they are quite cheap. They are all the same apart from the centre section of the body which appears to be interchangeable between the kits, Bonnie Buggy, Turbo Go, Dyna Moe.



I also received another Fly Ford GT40 from Le Mans 1967.

Received another Scalextric Porsche 962 today.

Seems to be in good condition but when running it sounds like a bag of bolts and while the tyres have enough grip got the car to run they are sliding everywhere in the corners. Also the car doesn't appear to have any lights.

Added the front grill and light unit along with the rear lights to the car.

We had a practice session at my club today and I gave the Skyline a test run and was very surprised and happy with the results. Although not the fastest of cars it handled very nicely for a car that's only about 50mm wide at the rear.

I bought an Aoshima Nissan Skyline R33 Snap Kit in my last order of kits from Japan and I had originally intended to use a Slot.It Skyline chassis but the wheelbase didn't look right and so I ordered a Slot.It HRS2 chassis for it which arrived yesterday.
I built the chassis up today found a slight problem with it. The HRS2 chassis is designed to take the old style motor pod with the side tab which makes the chassis wide on one side than the other and meant that I would have to fit a set of narrow wheels, probably about 6mm wide so a change of plan was required. However by this time I had printed a 3D interior tray with mounting posts, as I had done for the Bluebird, and on doing another check of the Skyline chassis I found that the chassis mounting point were the same and comparing the chassis wheelbase with the built up HRS2 there wasn't as much in it as I thought so I have now fitted all the running gear to the Slot.it Skyline chassis but i did have to do quite a bit of trimming of the chassis losing about 3mm each side and also some front and rear trimming. I also 3D printed an driver and front seats, again as for the Bluebird but scaled down, but having glued it to the tray I discovered that the seats and driver were to high so the driver has now lost the top of his head and now looks a bit like a very small egg cup.

Busy day with two postal deliveries and 6 packages, 1 from Spain and the second delivery of 5 packages of eBay purchases.

First eBay package had a Scalextric Porsche 962, yes another one in TakeFuji colour scheme.



and a Mercedes Sauber in the black colour scheme.



The next package also had a Sauber but this time from Slot.It.



The next package had a car I've aleady get a few of a Revell Shelby Cobra Daytona.



Box 4 had another Revell car but a vintage car this time in a Cooper Cobra.



The last box of the second delivery had some vintage bit in the form of a Riko chassis and motor, a Riko 16D motor and a 36D which just has a label saying Made in Hong Kong.

The box from Spain has a Slot.It inline HRS2 chassis kit and a couple of Avant Slot motors and

a NSR Porsche 917/10 in L&M livery which was on special offer.

Received some Vitese 1/43rd scale Porsche 956 diecast models today.

I also received some vintage parts and cars.
A Riko Chaparral 2F, or least I think that's what the body is.




Along with a Polistil Lotus 76 which also came with a spare body, 2 complete rear axle assemblies and a few spare wheels.



There was also a pack of MRRC push in braids, a pair of MRRC motor mount bolts, a set of Riko motor mounting plates, a Cox Cuc La Cucaracha chassis and some wheels, a pair of Cox tapered axles, a Riko 36D motor, some part for a MDC chassis and a Cox Racewell spur gear.

Added the chrome plated parts to the Datsun Bluebird body and also done some more detail painting. I have also printed a separate interior tray with moulded in driver and front seats and it's glued to the chassis tray. The chassis tray has also been glued to the body so the car is now a runner.

Done some detail painting on the Datsun Bluebird body, mainly painting the chrome work around the window frome and moulded in details.
