I bought this car at yesterdays UK Slot Car festival at the British Motor Museum. This car completes my Ford GT MkIV collection from Le Mans 1967 with all 5 cars that ran there, this being chassis J-5 which finished 4th driven by Bruch McLaren and Mark Donohue. The other race cars were chassis J-6, J-7 and J-8 and J-3 that ran on the test days. This cars is fitted, maybe quite fittingly, with a MRRC Sebring adjustable chassis. The runs well on my Policar track but the magnet, which will be removed, is very strong and on the Ninco loops it is lifting the very shallow guide out of the slot.
This car is a very later MRRC release and is post MRRC Jersey being released by H&T Motor racing Germany. One thing I do like is the support brack for the front axle fitted to the display stand which not only keeps the front wheels of the base but keeps the car very stable on the display base.
