Can't give much information about this car's details, it was mainly used at my school club and helped me win the 1/24th scale class in my final year.
The car was originally raced with a brass chassis built from a kit, Champion I think, and like most 1/24th scales cars on the School's track kept tripping the power supplies. It would also hit the hinges that were on the out side of the track that allowed the main straight to be folded for transport.
I then bought a solid pressed steel chassis much like the 1/32 scale Parma that was designed for 1/24th home racing and so was a bit narrower than the normal competition chassis and I fitted the wheels inside the chassis width. This meant that if you were careful and kept the car straight it would miss the hinges, a big advantage when using the outer lane.
The track at school had a power limit per lane, three lanes, with thermal auto power cutout and reset which took a few seconds and so I made another change to the car as it wasn't being used on any other tracks I changed the motor for a standard 1/32nd scale can motor, this allowed the car to keep running longer as it used less power and although being the slowest car in class won most races.
After I left school I used the car for a while on the public track at Wonderland Raceways and fitted it with an old chassis that used a large can motor (FD36??) and this is what can be seen in the photo, I'm not certain but it could be the chassis from my first 1/24th scale car, a Tamiya Lotus, and if so it's the chassis with the rods down the side of the motor.
