This is the original Scalextric Ford GT40 model in blue.
The car is in a nice clean condition but is missing the Race Tuned strips that go along the lower body sides. There is also a crack in the body from the right rear wheel arch going to the bottom right of the rear window.
This model, like most early ones, is based on the Ford press demonstration car which was badly damaged during practice for Le Mans. As such it is really a Ford GT not a GT40 as this name was only applied to the Mk1 and Mk2 cars.
I also had one of these models in 1969/70.
This car with a little work looks like it will be a nice runner, going quite well even with the slightly hard tyes it has at the moment/ I also need to swoop the wiring as it's running the wrong way. Gears are also making a bit of noise so will need a bit of attention.
